Those individuals hoping for Ketih Olbermann to finally be unleashed and zero in on a target with a brutal takedown got their wishes on his ESPN2 late night program Friday night. The target was CBSSports.com columnist and stirrer-of-the-pot Pete Prisco, who wrote this audacious, dispassionate pro-NFL column about the concussion lawsuit.
Olbermann tears apart Prisco almost sentence by sentence in his opening monologue, referencing various players who have succombed to the effects of head trauma. It's a stark reminder of the severity and seriousness of the story.
Alas, one can't help but wonder if Olbermann weren't working for ESPN, whether or not his target would have been John Skipper for pulling out of the Frontline documentary on the same topic.
If ESPN were smart, they would simply turn KO loose on everything that isn't political. Having KO rip ESPN while doing an ESPN show would be too good to pass up. ESPN still 'embraces debate' right?
