NBC will remain the home to the biggest horse race on the planet.

The network announced today that they have reached a 10-year agreement on an extension with Churchill Downs that will keep the Kentucky Derby on NBC through 2025. The network also secured rights to Derby Day programming, the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Oaks day programming. That will all be televised across NBC and NBCSN.

“We are excited to extend our partnership with Churchill Downs for both the iconic Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby and are proud to have them as signature elements of our Championship Season,” said NBC Sports Group Chairman Mark Lazarus in a press release. “This decade-long deal is a testament to the strength of the relationship between Churchill Downs Incorporated and NBC Sports, and underscores NBC’s commitment to the sport of horse racing."

After a 26-year run on ABC, the "Run for the Roses" has been broadcast by NBC since 2001. The current deal means that NBC will last as a Kentucky Derby broadcaster nearly as long as ABC did. NBC has averaged 14.3 million viewers for the race over 13 broadcasts since 2001.
