Our favorite crazy hockey announcer is back with another typically spellbinding moment in the broadcast booth. NESN announcer Jack Edwards gets more revved up for hockey fights than he does for hockey games as he challenges his inner Howard Cosell. But there was something that stood out as he called this recent scrap between Jordan Nolan and Milan Lucic.

Why is Edwards, arch defender of hockey, taking a swipe at Peter Gammons? It all goes back to this tweet a few days ago in the wake of the massive Canucks-Flames line brawl. It led Gammons to tweeting that hockey is a "minor sport."

Gammons is one of the most respected voices in sports, but I have to side with Edwards on this one. It's hard for a baseball writer to throw stones about premeditated violence considering how integral beanballs, fights, and unwritten rules are to that game. Nobody considers baseball a "minor sport" because of bench clearing brawls that are arguably more violent than what you see in hockey.
Of course there's one way to settle this – Gammons and Edwards stepping in the ring and finishing this themselves.
