Lindsey Vonn may still have a presence during NBC's Winter Olympics telecast despite the knee injury that knocked her out of competition. NBC is reportedly in talks to add Vonn to their coverage of the Games, though she's not expected to travel to Sochi because of her injury.

The quotes about Vonn came from Jim Bell, the executive producer of NBC's Olympics coverage. Bell was noncommittal about the possibility of Vonn making on camera appearances for NBC, and if she doesn't travel, I'm really not sure how well that would work out for NBC with most of their high profile talent in Sochi. Would Vonn do remote analysis? Would she just do a couple of fluff interviews about her teammates heading into the skiing competitions? Who knows?

In that same interview, Bell said that NBC wasn't concerned with a lack of interest in the American team with Vonn injured. Then why are they so desperate to add Vonn to their coverage if she can't even be on-site in Sochi? It doesn't make a lot of sense to me, and seems like NBC is panicking a bit despite what they're publicly saying.
