If you woke up this morning and scrolled through your Twitter timeline backwards to find out who won the Australian Open, you may have seen the above SportsCenter tweet from 5:25 AM ET proclaiming victory for Rafael Nadal. There's just one slight problem with that.
Nadal didn't win. He was upset by Stan Wawrinka in 4 sets – 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
It's easy to see what happened here, whoever was running the SportsCenter account scheduled the Rafa tweet for the middle of the night and then fell asleep because they didn't want to be up at 5 AM watching tennis.
Thankfully someone woke up and got it right the second time around.
Stanislas Wawrinka becomes 2nd Swiss man to win Grand Slam title in #AustralianOpen victory over Rafael Nadal.
