Pierre McGuire gets a lot of scorn online from hockey fans.  I've never really held that same dislike for Pierre McGuire as more of a casual hockey fan, but I do find it amusing just how many ways he can fit a player's college or Canadian junior team into a broadcast at totally unnecessary times.

Then there's clips like this, when Pierre packages obvious things as profound sentiments.  He says Montreal is a knowledgable crowd because they "cheer when their team does good things on the power play."  Not like those heathen crowds that aren't real hockey towns like Columbus or Nashville or Raleigh!

I swear if this leads to someone in the NHL to develop the "best fans in baseball" nonsense that Cardinals fans have proclaimed, we'll all have Pierre McGuire to blame.
