In Season 2 of the action series 24, Elisha Cuthbert's character, Kim Bauer, inexplicably won a staredown with a mountain lion. And so a fellow hockey WAG was no issue on Wednesday night in Toronto.

In Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals between the Maple Leafs and Bruins, Cuthbert's fiancé, Dion Phaneuf, committed a silly pinch leading to a game-winning goal on James Reimer. And it just so happened that Reimer's wife was sitting directly in front of Cuthbert, creating quite the awkward moment...

Now, April Reimer insists that she wasn't firing a dirty look at Cuthbert and that the two were exhibiting their frustration with a rude fan sitting nearby.

While in Denver, George Karl has gotten out of the first round of the postseason precisely once as Nuggets head coach out of nine appearances.  However, he did win this year's Coach of the Year award in the NBA for taking the Nuggets to a 57-25 season and the #3 seed in the west.

Phil Jackson is someone who knows about coaching success, but since he hasn't returned to coaching just yet he's reserving his particular brand of zen for what is quickly becoming one of the best Twitter feeds in sports.  Just have a taste of this "congratulatory" message Jackson sent Karl...

This clip comes to us by way of last night's Padres-Marlins game.  A routine Will Venable home run turns into a blooper reel moment.  Marlins right fielder Marcell Ozuna has no idea where the ball is.  The Padres play by play man (not Dick Enberg, a tweeter tells me it's Mike Pomeranz) has no idea where the ball is.  Heck, even Venable himself has no idea where the ball is.  Does everything the Marlins touch have to result in some kind of hijinks?

TSN SportsCentre anchors Jay Onrait and Dan O'Toole are moving to Fox Sports One this summer, and that should have a substantial impact on the U.S. sports media landscape. Onrait and O'Toole are expected to be a crucial part of Fox's plans to develop an ESPN alternative. However, the implications of this move aren't only below the 49th parallel. The departure of Onrait and O'Toole will present TSN with a substantial hole to fill, and they'll have to be careful how they do it. 

During last night's episode of Inside the NBA, Charles Barkley shared his true feelings on First Take carnival barker Skip Bayless with America.  Barkley has not exactly Bayless' biggest supporter over the years and he repeated those sentiments on TNT in quite the creative manner as you'll see above.  I wonder if this will make his Emmy tape for next year.

Bill Simonson, a Detroit Red Wings writer for MLive.com, is begging for you to feel sorry for his club. The Red Wings, a team the NHL has almost entirely based their future realignment around, is suddenly the overlooked squad in the league. The same team that will play in its second Winter Classic on New Year's Day 2014 before other noteworthy squads even play their first. The same team that has one of its own in Brendan Shanahan ruling over NHL discipline. The same team that has won the Stanley Cup 11 times is, according to Simonson, a team without national media love or attention from the NHL.

Simonson recently penned this article explaining why he thinks Justin Abdelkader's recent two-game suspension is unfair. Granted, we use the term "article" pretty loosely here. If you scan through his rant, you'll probably find yourself laughing at his delusions. We're not here to defend the NHL discipline system (it stinks), but we will point out a mockery of the written word when we see one.

Greg Wyshynski over at Puck Daddy already tore up Simonson's work, but we'll add a few thoughts of our own. 

Abdelkader's hit was a perfect example of what should be disciplined by the NHL. The NHL blows plenty of calls, but this one they got right due to the fact Abdelkader charges across the ice and propels himself upward to hit Anaheim's Toni Lydman in the head.

Frivolous lawsuits are one of the top five things that are slowly ruining this great country of ours.

In related news, the people behind Dr. Phil are suing Gawker Media and Deadspin in particular for publishing information spoiling a "cliffhanger" for the second of a two-part episode involving Ronaiah Tuiasosopo.  Here's more from Yahoo:

On the night in which Reggie Miller made his return to Madison Square Garden to do Game 2 of the Pacers-Knicks series for TNT, we were given one more classic moment involving Miller and Spike Lee -- even though Reggie had no knowledge of his involvement in said moment. 

On the 18th anniversary of Miller scoring eight points in less than nine seconds to lead Indiana over New York in a playoff game at MSG, Lee videobombed Miller while he was doing an on-camera hit. Love the smirk at the end, which worked because the Knicks also won handily to tie the series. 

That short-but-sweet moment came hours after Miller tweeted this:

Since its the anniversary of the 8pts, maybe I walk by Spike tonight and give him the choke sign for old times sake...jk jk, I'm an ANGEL..

The fact that the series will automatically be coming back to New York for Game 5 means Miller could have one last chance to do so.
