The Tony Romo Narrative may be the weirdest thing in sports right now. It always used to be that Romo was a choke artist as he led the Cowboys to late season disappointment after late season disappointment. We all had a good time making fun of Romo and the Cowboys because there are few things in life greater than Jerry Jones schadenfreude.
Now, a weird thing has happened where The Internet has decided it's going to do everything in its power to NOT blame Tony Romo for the Cowboys' failures, even when he plays a huge, blatant role in their screw ups. I must have missed the meeting. Darn it, that always happens.
Sure, the Cowboys have one of the worst defenses in NFL history, their coach is questionably compotent, and their owner is a hot mess, but Tony Romo does play the most important position in professional sports and has to take some proportional amount of blame and/or praise, right?
Take yesterday for instance, when the Cowboys blew an unblowable lead to the Aaron Rodgers-less Green Bay Packers at home thanks in some quantifiable part to two late Romo interceptions.
Totally not his fault. Apparently.
Except that it was... according to some people.
