Local morning television tends to follow the same formula. News, weather, traffic, a cooking segment and a couple of interviews, then wash, rinse and repeat for as many as 90+ minutes a day. Give credit to Bob Herzog of WKRC-TV in Cincinnati for breaking up the monotony.
Known as "The Traffic Man" for his regular song parodies, Herzog chose to cover the Oscar-winning "Let It Go" from Disney's Frozen with his own spin. He performed the song under a new title, "Just Don't Go," complete with a whole new set of lyrics and they are just as catchy as the original.
“Highways are crawling like some slow ants in a line. They won’t all stay in, heaven knows I try.
“They can’t stay in, so they must see. Be the traffic man you have to be. The wheels they squeal, spinning the snow. And now they know…
“Just don’t go! Just don't go!
"Can't hold 'em back anymore!”
The video performed on the set accompanied with traffic spinouts and fender benders is classic. And the reaction from the meteorologist is priceless, "I just gotta ask ... what's wrong with you?"
Now that we're aware of Herzog, we await his next parody.
