I like to believe there's sometimes more to life than just mere coincidence and random events. What happened in Coral Gables Tuesday night is more evidence that somewhere up there the baseball gods do exist, and they allow us to enjoy some awesome moments from time to time.
Miami senior Javi Salas threw a perfect game in a 17-0 home victory against Villanova. It was just the 22nd perfect game in NCAA history going back to 1957. Salas, a captain at Miami, threw the second perfect game in the history of the Hurricanes baseball program.
That wasn't the only history that was made though as Salas' perfecto will go down as one of the more unique moments in all of collegiate baseball because of the combination of his performance and the person who called the game on radio.
Salas' younger brother Jorge called his brother's perfect game for Miami's student radio station, WVUM. Via Deadspin, here's his call of his brother's history making moment.no comments
