Given the NHL has already announced a new documentary series for later in the 2013-14 season, NHL Revealed on NBCSN, the return of HBO's 24/7: Road to the Winter Classic may seem a bit under the radar. That said, the show still features the principal players that make it an excellent show. HBO Sports still runs the show, Liev Schriber's crazy, soft yet intense narrator's voice is still there. And you've still got a really great format for a short series.
There's some things to look out for this season, however, with the Red Wings and Maple Leafs taking center ice on Saturday for the season premiere. In case you're maybe a casual hockey fan, or not someone who follows those teams, or are new to the series completely, here are some things you should know about Season 3 of 24/7.
1. A New Night, on Hockey Night
After airing in the middle of the week for Seasons 1 & 2, HBO has moved the show to Saturday nights at 10 p.m. ET for this season. I have some grievances about this move, mostly because I'd like to see the show get a chance on the network's biggest night of programming (Sunday) or stay on Wednesdays, which are usually light and would follow up NBCSN's Wednesday Night Rivalry game.no comments
